JDRF...the walk is over, now what?

Thank you all for the tremendous support you've shown us.  With our fearless leader, John Patterson, working as the Corporate Chair for JDRF's Walk For A Cure this year, it seems like all we've thought about is the WALK.  But, it's over...now what??!!  We worked hard, had a great time, were more deeply touched than ever by your generousity, and together, pulled out all the stops.  Our employees pitched in, our community pitched in, and even the weather helped us this year...well, who says we have to stop, anyway?

Until the cure is here (and it's so close)...we'll just keep doing what we do best...selling cars to raise funds and awarness!

JDRF Awards Dinner and the OC Auto Team Car-Give-Away!

Congratulations to the many fine teams who marched through the rain in November, raising over $800,000.00 for JDRF, OC! It was tons of hard work, and truth be known, a lot of fun, too!

This year, our car give-away found the winner to be not yet equipped with a driver's license. But just like nothing stopped Kate Schmitt and her team "Awesomeness" from walking and raising funds, a little thing like a driver's license isn't going to stop her either! Kate has big plans for her choice of a 2012 Mazda 3 or a 2012 Hyundai Elantra....she'll be taken to the mall in "her" car, whenever she wants ;-)... until she's old enough to drive it herself!

Congratulations to all the teams, and to all the supporters of JDRF....your inspiration and can-do attitudes makes it such an honor for the OC Auto Team to be "the drive behind your walk". We look forward to the 2012 walk later this year, as we all rally together on our Walk To Cure Diabetes.

Happy New Year!

Here's to a happy and healthy new year to all! We'll hope the promise of a new year brings with it success and prosperity to our community.

We'll be starting off the new year just the way we enjoy it the most, by giving away a car to a supporter of JDRF, OC. This year's winner will be randomly selected on Jan. 25. If one of your resolutions is to offer more help to those in need this year, try some of these great suggestions:
1) Give Blood
2) Donate batteries to CHOC (all those tech toys the kids use need batteries!)
3) Donate school supplies to your local schools (even a box of pencils is appreciated!)
4) Box up some canned food for Second Harvest (they have a huge need during the week)
5) Donate your air miles to Make-A-Wish
6) Whatever you do, keep your heart open and expect nothing in return. If just feels better that way!
