The month of December...

It seems like December arrives earlier and earlier, and the lists get longer and longer! So much to do; parties to attend, shopping and shipping to finish, decorate the house-the gifts-the tree-and even the dog!

We'll gladly add one more little thing to do. Such a small sentence on the list:
#1. Donate to the OC Rescue Mission.

We'd love to encourage you to add those words to your list, too! The need is great, but if we all pitch in, we'll make a huge difference!

We'll even help you! At our Tustin stores (Tustin Mazda and Tustin Hyundai) just drop by and drop off...we'll do the rest for you. We're collecting gifts, clothing, and canned goods on behalf of the Orange County Mission, from Dec. 1-21. Are you in the HB area, near our HB Mazda store? Go ahead and drop something there, too...we'll deliver it for you.

For more ways to help the least, the lost, and the last in our community, please visit the OC Rescue Mission's website http://www.rescuemission.org/

Merry Christmas Giving!

October, 2011...It's our month to Drive Funds to JDRF OC

In an unprecedented move, the OC Auto Team will donate a portion of the profit from every car sold, at all three dealerships in the month of October, to JDRF.

The OC Auto Team takes $50.00 for every car sold and puts it towards their annual community fund. The goal is to have donated over one million dollars by their 10 year anniversary, to various community organizations.

This year, for the entire month of October, to kick off the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes, John Patterson set a goal to raise $10,000.00, and present it to JDRF on the morning of the JDRF Walk, Nov. 6, 2011, at UCI. He’ll be taking all monies raised for the community fund by the OC Auto Team in October, and donating every cent of it to JDRF!

If you, or anyone you know is in the market for a new or used car, October is JDRF month at Tustin Mazda, HB Mazda and Tustin Hyundai. Not only will the shopping be the best experience ever, and not only will the new or used car fit every transportation need but you, your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers, will be actively participating in driving funds to JDRF this October. Help us spread the word! Together, we will find a cure!

OC Auto Team Child Safety Tip of the Week!!!

Children should wear a helmet while they are riding on their bikes, scooters, skateboards or in-line skates. Helmets protect the head and brain from getting hurt. They are like “seatbelts” for your head.

Look for a helmet with a CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) sticker inside to show that it has been safety tested and approved.

Choose a helmet with a round, smooth plastic outer shell.

The helmet should sit low on the forehead, about 2 fingers above the eyebrows.

The fit of the helmet should feel snug, but not tight.

The front and back straps should form the letter “v” just below the ears.

Only one finger should fit between the chinstrap and the chin.

The helmet should not move more than ½ inch in any direction.

Use knee and elbow pads when riding a bike or a scooters.

Do not use wristguards when riding anything with handlebars, such as bicycles and scooters. (It is hard to grip the handlebars when wearing wristguards).

Stay away from streets and surfaces with water, speed bumps, sand and gravel.

By law in California, everyone age 17 years and under must wear a helmet while bicycling, riding a scooter, skateboard, roller skates and in-line skates.
Ride Safe!

We did it again!!! Another Car Give-Away!

Our good friends at CHOC mentioned they were looking for a Van to use as a shuttle service on Campus. The one they had was starting to lose its luster a bit, not to mention some power, tires, shocks, etc!

We were so happy to help and so honored to be asked! So now CHOC has a newer Hyundai Van to transport families and patients, and John Patterson got to have his picture taken with Choco!!

We're hoping you might help CHOC in any way you can, too. Go to http://www.choc.org/

and find out how you can send an ecard from CHOC in support of heart month!

We Gave Away A Car!!!

JDRF Awards Dinner, Irvine, CA

The 2010 Walk to Cure Diabetes saw more than 5,000 walkers this past November! A record breaking year and one that we were once again, very proud to be a part off.
Our part is certainly much easier than all those who worked so hard for such a successful year, all we did was simply give away a brand new car! 10 finalist were selected from those who raised the most donations from the November Walk to Cure Diabetes. Those ten each received a key from us. One by one, they attempted to open the driver’s door of a 2011 Mazda 2 (the winner can select either a 2011 Mazda 2, a 2011 Hyundai Accent, or a 2011 Mazda 3).
After much anticipation, our lucky winner was Sarah Kiani!
Congratulations to Sarah and to all our friends at JDFR for an extremely impressive year of doing what they do best….give, walk, ask, and speak all year long to find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes.

We're getting there!

Once again, our company has been truly blessed by the hard work and dedication of our employees! The OC Auto Team raised over $100,000.00 again this year and our goal of $1,000,000,000. is truly in sight!
We have donated $640,280. to our community since our opening in 2004. Our goal is to hit one million by our tenth year, and with continued dedication, we're on track to do it!
...Next Thursday, we'll be attending the JDRF awards dinner. We'll be offering the grandprize winner their choice of three cars! They can choose either a Mazda3, a Mazda2, or a Hyundai Accent!! The winner is selected through JDRF as one of many who embraced the annual JDRF walk in November, by raising the most funds! It will be a great evening, as we have a bit of a surprise in store for the top 10 fundraisers! They'll all get a chance to win, but only one key will open the car door.
...We also donated a shuttle to CHOC at the end of 2010, to use in transporting patients and family throughout the CHOC campus, and to and from the Ronald McDonald House. It was one of our Hyundai vans, with tons of leg room, comfy seats, and stress free driving! Our employees, at their own Christmas party, selected CHOC as our top charity for our company matching donation, and with that check, another $5,000.00 was donated to CHOC, with love, from the OC Auto Team!
...If you would care to join us in our support of these worthy causes, we invite you to visit their sites for more information:

...We encourage you all to get up and get active within your community. The needs may be great, but the rewards are even greater!
